About Joe Persinger, Ph.D. SEP
I've worked as a clinical psychologist for over 30 years in an adult outpatient psychotherapy practice and for 20 years as a staff psychologist in the Chronic Pain Department at Kaiser Permanente's Santa Rosa Facility.
Treatment modalities that inform my work include Psychodynamic Psychology, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Meditation, EMDR, Ericksonian Hypnosis, Crisis Intervention and Somatic Experiencing Trauma Therapy.
Presenting issues I work with include chronic pain and other chronic medical conditions, anxiety/panic disorders, phobias, depressive disorders, sleep disorders, dissociative disorders, life/work stress and post-traumatic stress syndromes.
Even after 15 years of studying SE, I find that each training I assist brings me new insight and understanding of its application to healing trauma and restoring resilience.
Completion of Kathy Kain's 16-day training on Touch Training for Trauma Therapists and her 16-day training on Somatic Resilience After Early Developmental Trauma has deepened my appreciation for the use of touch in working somatically with clients.
I'm approved by the Foundation to provide personal sessions and individual case consultations at the Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced levels.
