About Brad J Kammer

I am a Somatic Psychotherapist, certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, Consultant, Assistant Trainer and Presenter for the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute.
I have a private practice in Ukiah (Mendocino County) where I practice body-centered psychotherapy in supporting people's healing and aliveness. I also work as a clinical contractor for several mental health agencies, including serving under-served, at-risk youth and families.
I am excited to be able to share a basic understanding of Somatic Experiencing with my community, teaching local classes and running groups on transforming stress, resolving trauma, supporting parenting and youth, and navigating troubled relationships. I am currently offering ongoing consultation groups for SE students and practitioners.
I also have had the great fortune to work internationally with different cultures in the development and support of basic recovery skills from trauma. I have worked with Burmese refugees in Asia, have served on a trauma response team to New Orleans post-Katrina, and have also been part of a team introducing SE to mainland China.
I am also a Psychology Professor at Mendocino College, National University, and Sonoma State University. I have been introducing a somatic understanding of stress and trauma to these universities, and recently developed and taught a graduate seminar at Sonoma State University entitled "Somatic Approaches to Trauma and Grief". I am currently teaching Introductory SE workshops throughout the U.S., and offer classes and consultation on integrating SE with Interpersonal Neurobiology; working at the interface of shock and developmental trauma.
I am honored to be part of the Somatic Experiencing community and share in this transformative process of healing trauma.
