About Mary Scheib

I offer compassionate presence, facilitation of your natural healing process. My work progresses from an understanding of how trauma & stress are a dys-regulation in the body/mind. To heal from trauma, we attend to safety, regulation & movement toward aliveness. We focus on present moment awareness of experience, re-estabiishing natural rhytms, sensing & building resources & completing impulses. . I am Family Nurse Practitioner nationally board certified with a Masters in Nursing from UCSF and practice through the lens of a broad and deep experience as an NP.

My private practice in San Francisco's Noe Valley neighborhood is an Integrative Wellness model bringing together Somatic Experiencing (r), Somatic Practice Touch Skills, Organic Intelligence (r), mindfulness, and integrative wellness. My keen interests include: resilence and regulation touch work after early trauma and Trauma Resilience; complex symptom syndroms; medical trauma;  and sustainable caregiving for Nurses and others individually and in groups.

Although I do not bill insurance directly, I can provide you with a superbill to collect reimbursement from your insurance.

I currently enjoy volunteering with the Trauma Resilience Project at Faithful Fools Ministry in SF, providing SE sessions to volunteers and clients effected by and witnesses of poverty and homelessness.  In the 2017-18, I am assisting in the SE  training in Berkeley.

Professional memberships:  California Coalition of Nurse Practitioners, American Holistic Nurse's Association and the SE Institute.

I am deeply grateful every day for many blessing of family, close (human and animal) friends, teachers and mentors.  "Healing from trauma always involves love" Steve Terrell
