About Alicia K.L. Pon
I have been a child psychotherapist and social worker for over 20 years. My training is in General Psychology, Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Play Therapy, Sandplay Therapy, Somatic Experiencing®, Grief Counseling and Social Work. My experiences and specializations include divorce & separation, grief & loss, complex trauma, adoption & attachment, developmental stresses, and parent-child relationship.
I spent 16 years in Hong Kong, serving children and their families through my private practice group. I was also on staff and served as an Honorary Assistant Professor with the University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Shue Yan University. I lectured and supervised undergraduate and post graduate students in the areas of counseling and psychotherapy, grief and loss, child and adolescent mental health, play therapy and social work. In addition, I have been involved in the research on Somatic Work, Psycho-oncology, Play Therapy and End of Life in the University department
In 2017, I relocated to Singapore. I serve as a Senior Lecturer with the National University of Singapore, lecturing on child and adolescent social work, counseling, play therapy and sandtray therapy. I continued to provide private consultation services through a paediatric clinic for children and their families.
