About Ann Cover Freeman

I am delighted that you are interested in my practice.  I work with each individual in a way that best suits that person's needs and can best access and unlock her/his inner capacities and resources, enabling the person to be in the world in a way that is more fulfilling and enjoyable.  This process supports health, encourages grounding in one's being, restores creative and executive thinking capacities and enhances one's relational skills.  While working with you, I am attending to the content of what you are saying, how your body is communicating something similar or something different than your works, the unique dynamic of the moment, the quality of our interaction, and what is intuitively arising within me as a guide to the most well-suited treatment approach for that moment in time.  My treatment approaches are informed by my trainings, my artistic experience, my own healing path, and my continuous reading, study and thought--always with my clients in mind.  I am an interactive therapist, committed to providing a highly attuned, warm and positive environment to help you heal, evolve and flourish.I am in the Advanced year of training in Somatic Experiencing.  I have also trained in EMDR, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and draw upon neuroscience, attachment theory and psychodynamic principles.  Perhaps equally important, I have lived deeply and bring to my work much life experience.  I hold three academic degrees in different fields. Before becoming a therapist, I worked as an editor, dancer, and college teacher.  I currently study yoga and Buddhism.Over the past 25 years, clients continuously report feeling more joy, lighter and in control, and being more genuinely themselves.  They go beyond coping to living life more fully, more freely. For more information about my practice, please visit my website at anncfreemanphd.com.
