About Charles Stacey

I have been in practice since 1991.  In that time I have focused on trauma with individuals (from 27 months to 89 years old) and families.  Many of the clients I have worked with presented with depression, anxiety, addictive process or family "problems" but so often the underlying cause emerged as trauma.  I have structured my practice in various ways over the 24 years includeing solo private practice, home based family therapy for a private non-profit social service agency (4 1/2 years), addiction and dual diagnosis treatment and supervision for the Navajo Nation Behavioral Health Services (7 1/2 years) as well as teaching (adjunct faculty for Highlands Unversity School of Social Work) and professional development training as Chairman of the Four Corners Training Consortium.  I am licensed in and an approved licensure supervisor in New Mexico and Texas.  My work has been greatly influenced by the research, practice and work developed by Dr. Bruce Perry, Ernest Rossi of the Erickson Institute as well as SE and Peter Levine.  In addition I am trained in and use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprossing (EMDR) as well as the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) of Gary Craig, HeartMath as well as Ideopathic Hypnosis from Milton Erickson and Ernest Rossi.  All these approaches to trauma I place on a foundation of systemic work of Virginia Satir (Sculpting and Communications), Salvedor Minuchin (Structural Family Therapy), Murry Bowen (Intergenerational Family Therapy) and Goolishian/Anderson/White/Epson (Postmodern Narrative Therapy).
