About Laura Orsatti Weissflog

With over 15 plus years of experience as a therapist, and as a graduate of University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing Psychiatric Master's program, Laura obtained specialized training in Family Systems Theory with additional course work in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Laura's practice has evolved from a traditional talk-therapy model to now incorporating the results of three years of specialized trauma-focused training. Her suburban practice accepts a wide variety of clients where she applies her expertise in the areas of trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, and grief/loss. Laura considers herself a trauma-informed therapist and has completed the 216 hours Somatic Experiencing® professional training. This training is based upon the work of Peter Levine, the author of Waking the Tiger, among other trauma-related works. Learn more about this type of trauma treatment

Laura is very open, approachable, and non-judgemental. She takes a real, compassionate and very interactive approach collaborating with her clients. Each interaction is individualized, to explore where each person might need support to make changes toward increasing their happiness and having the kind of life and relationships they've always wanted.  Laura's training as a nurse practitioner and psychotherapist has prepared her to provide additional education to her clients so that they will have a better understanding of their current situation and why they may be experiencing difficulties.  A brief look at a client's family history will provide necessary insight to better understand a person's patterns or behaviors.  Laura listens with complete attention, using an open and honest approach that her clients say allow for them to find her very easy to talk to and share just about anything.
