About Megan Holm
Being human can feel like such difficult work. How to live life fully awake and alive, openhearted and embodied? It can seem like an insurmountable task when we are confused or stuck, and desperate for some opening. I provide companionship and guidance to support you along your road, to find acceptance and an open heart amidst change. I work with you to access different ways of knowing in order to come through the portals of grief, loss, shame, relationship challenges, spiritual crisis and trauma, to a greater sense of purpose and a life fully lived.
My psychotherapy work combines a practice of Family systems, Somatic Experiencing, and spiritual seeking. 'Family systems' recognizes that we are shaped by our families and significant relationships, and that these relationships influence our ability to be present and embodied. Somatic Experiencing understands trauma as a loss of connection (with ourselves, our bodies, others, the world around us), and seeks to reclaim connection from the bottom-up, meaning we listen and start from the body to access its innate knowing and wisdom. Spiritual seeking references the path towards a greater purpose - in this body, on this planet, here and now. I believe, and have seen through my work with these methods, that each of us possess what we need for wholeness; there is no need to look beyond ourselves. I offer guidance to support you to do this work, and I serve as a witness to the profound shifts and discovery that arise when we are able to be fully present.
In addition to my training in family systems and SE, I also do CranioSacral work.
