About Tyla Burnett
I am a registered occupational therapist with ten years of experience, a certified HeartMath Practitioner and an Advanced Level Somatic Experiencing Practitioner in Training with expected completion of training in June 2018.
I believe each person has capacity for change, and the potential to find more ease, joy and resilience in day-to-day life. My mission is hold space and set the right conditions for people to experience what needs to be experienced in a safe, gentle way, at the right time and pace for their nervous system - in order to free up room to be more present, more at ease, and feeling more like themselves. I specialize in working with women who could benefit from support for themselves in order to manage their own health or to care for others. Women who may find benefit from this work could include those who have recently or in the past experienced difficult pregnancies or deliveries, baby blues or post-partum depression and/or anxiety, infant or pregnancy loss, and health issues of their own or of their child or children. Becoming a mother without any of the above can also be a challenging and longer-term transition, and so a history of the above is not necessary to benefit from this work. I also work with women who have anxiety, depression, fertility issues, histories of abuse or trauma, chronic pain, motor vehicle accidents, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome/myalgic encephalitis, or eating disorders.
