About Jan Weiss
Imagine being seen, heard and understood without judgment or criticism. I have over twelve years of experience working with children, adolescents and adults who have experienced trauma, suffer from low self esteem, are having relationship issues, and are angry, anxious, or depressed. You will learn to identify limiting beliefs that prevent you from being happy, productive and successful. As a result you develop a more positive and optimistic perspective so that you can be comfortable with how you choose to live your life. My intention is to create a safe space that is non-judgmental, welcoming and warm.
I make strong connections with children and adolescents because I am able to speak their language and meet them at their level. With children I utilize art, play, sandtray, and cognitive behavioral therapy. Adolescents learn to replace negative and limiting beliefs with positive beliefs about themselves. I also work with couples.
In addition to extensive training, my work is also informed by many rewarding life experiences. I have been practicing and leading mindfulness meditation groups for over 20 years, served in the U.S. Navy, was a successful business executive and am a husband and a father who understands the joys and challenges of family life.
