About Andrea Mary Quast-Mortello
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, I work with clients to unlock creative energy that may be blocked by trauma, create healthy patterns in one’s personal and professional life, and develop greater resiliency and self-awareness in the face of adversity and change. Through individual and couples’ counseling tailored to your specific needs, I can support you in living the life you want to live, not the one you have inherited from the past.
Foundational to my approach is an orientation toward possibility that honors the connection between our minds and bodies. In our work together, I will help you understand patterns in your life and their root causes, while bringing compassionate awareness to the felt sense in the body to enable conscious and courageous shifts in your inner life and in relation to others. Through Somatic Experiencing and other healing modalities I can help you create greater coherence and balance in the nervous system, supporting your capacity to choose the direction of your life, rather than simply reacting to circumstances in the same predictable patterns. It’s important to understand why we may retreat, attack or run from difficulties or challenges. It is liberating when we begin to realize and sense in our bodies that change is happening and that different outcomes are truly available to us. Our work together will support you in living more consciously and joyfully through deepening your capacity to respond with clarity, insight, and power to the present moment.
My practice holistically integrates insights and therapeutic modalities from several sources and teachers with whom I have studied, including Terrance Real (Relational Life Therapy), Pia Mellody (Healing Core Wounds), Peter Levine (Somatic Experiencing), and Caroline Myss (Archetypes).
