About Ned Weyer Rodriguez

Dr. Ned welcomes you to his practice! He specializes in providing cutting-edge therapy to help persons heal and recover from traumatic life experiences. His practice serves adult, child and senior survivors of a broad spectrum of traumatic events, including: child abuse/neglect (emotional, physical, sexual abuse); elder abuse; clergy abuse; intimate partner violence; criminal violence; sexual assault; accidents; combat & war; natural disasters; life-threatening medical illnesses and invasive surgical procedures. Dr. Ned works with all trauma-related reactions, including PTSD, dissociation and Dissociative Identity Disorder, depression, anxiety, grief, relationship issues and substance abuse. He incorporates the most up-to-date assessment tools and integrates the most promising new treatments into his therapy, including those that current research has proven to be effective: SE, EMDR, Trauma-focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Psychodynamic Trauma Treatment, including Neuroaffective Relational Model (NARM) certification.  Dr. Ned welcomes trauma survivors from all stages of recovery to his practice, including those just starting therapy and those who have participated in talk therapy and are seeking further healing beyond that provided by traditional psychotherapy. Dr. Ned offers comprehensive psychotherapy to facilitate healing across multiple dimensions of the human experience. He works with the mind, body, and spirit to bring relief to the "whole person." Dr. Ned is a highly interactive and very caring therapist. He fully engages with clients during sessions, and provides a therapeutic experience that offers in-session experiential exercises that go way beyond those provided by some traditional talk therapists who often give little feedback or discussion during sessions. Dr. Ned provides state-of-the-art therapy that helps survivors across all phases of their recovery, to: 1. Stabilize their lives by reducing their current distress, often caused by upsetting reactions to reminders of past traumatic experiences; 2. Work through what happened to them in the past to reduce the harmful effects of trauma in their current lives; and 3. Go on to build rewarding and satisfying lives. Dr. Ned has trained with leading experts in the trauma field at respected research centers, including: an internship at the National Center for PTSD in Boston; post-graduate education in spirituality and trauma, earning a Masters Degree in Theology; and a faculty appointment at the UCLA Trauma Psychiatry Program. As a trauma researcher, he developed widely used scales that assess PTSD in traumatized children and published PTSD research studies in top peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Ned began his scientific career earning a B.S. Degree in Biology at Duke University where he graduated Summa cum laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He later studied at the Medical College of Virginia where he completed specialized training in stress and medical illn
