About Aimee I Gaffney

I have been a practicing psychotherapist and Licensed-Psychologist-Master in Vermont for over 30 years. My therapy orientation utilizes interpersonal and relational psychotherapy , Psychoanalytical Depth Psychology , and SE for healing trauma, which includes both Developmental Trauma Disorder and situational trauma. I passionately encourage my clients to use artistic and creative mediums for self expression and exploration, using writing, painting, music and theatre arts if appealing to them; and I eagerly advocate practicing yoga and breathing exercises ( Dr. Stephen Porges's diaphramatic breathing technique ) for self regulation, comfort and maintaining  balanced emotional states.

I have continued post- advanced training in Somatic Experiencing; Trauma Healing and Attachment Disorders with Diane Poole Heller, PhD; Raja Selvam PhD in NYC; and many conferences with trauma specialists including Dr. Bessel Van der Kolk, Dr. Stephen Porges, Eric Gentry, Phd.; and Michael Conforti, PhD Jungian Analyst, at an  intensive in Italy 2017.
