About Frank Bosco

Frank Bosco, MA, MT-BC, LCAT, LMT, RPP, SEP, is the founder/director of Sound Health Studio, a center specializing in body/mind wellness and therapy. He has been in private practice for over 30 years integrating a wide range of somatic/psychotherapy practices. With his expertise in both scientific and esoteric studies of the human body, he specializes in body-oriented psychotherapy (primarily Gestalt Therapy) processing with the use of music and sound. As one of the first few New York professionals to be trained in Somatic-Experiencing® he has specialized in incorporating music and sound therapy for pain reduction and trauma resolution and has had the honor of co-presenting with Peter Levine, the founder of Somatic-Experiencing, offering his unique methodology for integrating music into the SE approach to trauma resolution. He has contributed to the promotion of SE in many ways over the years including writing several book chapters on the subject of using music in conjunction with SE practice.
Since 1981 Frank has taught many classes, home and abroad, related to bodywork, music therapy/healing, psychotherapy and trauma work. He developed his own approach for combining music and bodywork based on Ayurvedic principles that he calls "Elemental Music Alignment" and describes in his Masters thesis. This work lead to his teaching a course called "Energy Concepts in Music Therapy" for music therapy graduate students at New York University.
Frank has been an adjunct faculty member in the graduate music therapy program at NYU for over 20 years facilitating group process classes and conducting workshops in the application of gestalt theory to music therapy. He has been an active member of the New York Institute for Gestalt Therapy for many years and is currently serving a term as Vice President. He continues to practice, teach, lecture, write, play, and explore, all in the interest of bettering the human condition.
